Five Steps from Browse to Pickup
Reserve vs. No-Reserve
The Difference That Changes Everything
Every auction listing clearly shows whether it's reserve or no-reserve. Here's what that means for you as a buyer.
A seller wanted $68,000 for his truck. We told him $48,000. He didn't believe us. Three months later, still no offers at $68k. He called back, dropped the price to $48k, and sold it the same day for $50,000.
No-Reserve Auctions
Highest Bidder Wins. Period.
✓ Sells regardless of price
✓ No hidden minimums
✓ Creates urgency (someone's winning this)
✓ Best chance for below-market deals
✓ Weekly auctions
What this means for you: If you're the highest bidder when time expires, you win. The seller can't reject your bid or change their mind. It's yours.
Strategy: Bid your true maximum. No-reserve = genuine opportunity, but also genuine competition.
Reserve Auctions
Hidden Minimum Price Set by Seller
✓ Sells regardless of price
✓ No hidden minimums
✓ Creates urgency (someone's winning this)
✓ Best chance for below-market deals
✓ Weekly auctions
What this means for you: If you're the highest bidder when time expires, you win. The seller can't reject your bid or change their mind. It's yours.
Strategy: Bid your true maximum. No-reserve = genuine opportunity, but also genuine competition.
FAQs
Everything you wanted to ask
I've never bought from an auction before. How does this actually work?
You browse equipment like shopping online. When you see something you want, you register (one time), then place your bid. The system handles the rest—automatically bidding for you up to your maximum.
The auction closes at a specific time. Highest bidder wins. You get notified immediately.
Then what? You pay within [X days], coordinate pickup, and verify the equipment. We hold your money until you confirm everything matches the listing.
That's it. No tricks. No hidden steps. Just a straightforward process with real people available when you have questions.
Still confused? Call us. Erik's cell phone is the first number on this site: (218) 209-5232
What about shipping? I'm in [state] and the equipment is in [different state].
Buyer arranges and pays for shipping. That's standard across the industry.
But we help: We'll connect you with our trusted transport partners who specialize in heavy equipment hauling.
The process:
You win the auction
We provide the exact equipment location (full address after payment)
You contact a shipper for quotes
Shipper coordinates pickup with seller
Equipment gets delivered to you
Location is always specified upfront (city, state, zip) so you can estimate shipping costs before bidding.
How do I pay? And when do you release my money?
Payment due: Within [X days] of winning
Payment options:
Credit card
Wire transfer
[Other options]
Here's the important part: We don't just hand your money to the seller and walk away.
We hold your payment until you:
Coordinate pickup with seller
Inspect the equipment in person (or via appointed representative)
Verify it matches the listing description
If something's wrong? We handle it. We're the judge, jury, and executioner. You're protected.
No "I bought this and got screwed" situations. That's not how we operate.
Where is the equipment located? Can I see it before bidding?
Location is always listed: City, State, Zip on every auction listing.
95% of equipment is at the seller's location - not in our yard. The full street address is provided after you win and pay.
Can you inspect before bidding? Depends on the seller and location, but we encourage it when possible.
To arrange inspection:
Contact us before bidding
We'll coordinate with the seller
Schedule a time to see it in person
Bring your own mechanic if you want
Can't inspect in person? We provide detailed photos and descriptions. You can also request additional photos or video.
Pro tip: The more comfortable you are with the equipment, the more confidently you can bid.
Is this reserve or no-reserve? How do I know?
Every listing clearly shows the auction type.
Look for these badges:
"NO RESERVE" = Sells to highest bidder, guaranteed
"RESERVE" = Hidden minimum price set by seller
It's never hidden. You'll know before you bid.
Why it matters:
No-reserve: You could win at any price (even below market)
Reserve: You might be highest bidder but still not win if reserve isn't met
Not sure which to bid on? Both have advantages. It depends on whether you're hunting for deals (no-reserve) or want to bid on higher-value equipment where sellers want protection (reserve).
Can I inspect the equipment before I pay for it?
After you win but before you pay? No. Payment is due within [X days] of winning.
But here's your protection: We hold your payment until you verify the equipment.
The process:
You win the auction
You pay within [X days]
We hold those funds (seller doesn't get them yet)
You coordinate pickup and inspect equipment
If everything matches the listing, we release funds to seller
If something's wrong, we handle it
You're protected on both sides. We're not just facilitating—we're actively protecting both buyer and seller throughout the transaction.
